The fortress town will come alive with period life on July 10th - 11th. The 11th annual Lively Josefov event, subtitled "In the Time of Sixes", will offer historical markets, themed walks, archaeology and a large interactive game. The popular Lively Josefov event is entering its 11th year and this year will take you on a fascinating journey through time. Under the theme "Josefov in the Time of Sixes", key moments of history associated with the fortress will come to life - from the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 through the interwar years of 1926-1936 to other important anniversaries ending in the number six.

You can look forward to characters in period costumes, an army, a market on the square, a craft fair, Josefov beer and other goodies, period music, a puppet show and a battle demonstration. Horse-drawn carriages will ride through the city, you will see the army on display and ladies parading in beautiful dresses.

The program will start on Friday at Bastion IV (5:00 PM–9:30 PM) with a pleasant cultural evening. The main event will then break out on Saturday (9:00 AM–4:00 PM), when Masaryk Square and Bastion IV will be transformed into a historical center with a market with a hundred vendors.
