Open Mill Day 2026 – discover the water and windmills of the Czech Republic

Come and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of mills and their history for a day! On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the 2nd annual Open Mill Day event will take place in the Czech Republic, an event inspired by similar events in Europe and around the world.
The nationwide event opens selected mills to the public and connects experts, property owners, municipalities and visitors interested in technical monuments and their stories.

The aim of the event is to make mills visible as one of the most important inventions of mankind and to make buildings with a rich story accessible to the public, including those normally inaccessible to the public. Visitors can look forward to tours of the mills, demonstrations of their operation and learn a lot of interesting things about their history and significance.

The event is intended for all those interested in history, technology and traditions
The Open Mill Day is a great opportunity for a family trip, a trip with friends or for those who want to learn more about this fascinating industry.
