Glacensis Euroregion Bulletin 3/2025

The last issue of this year's newsletter has been published

Dear readers,

We present the new December issue of our Euroregional newsletter. In this year's latest issue, we look at important milestones for our collaborating organizations. In particular, the Regional Development Agency celebrated its 25th anniversary, and the European Group for Territorial Cooperation (NOVUM) commemorated its impressive 10th anniversary. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to both institutions. And what else does this issue have to offer? For example, you'll learn about the work of the Polish Institute in Prague (pages 4–6). Current information about the Interreg Czech Republic-Poland program, with a particular focus on "large" projects, is discussed in the article on page 14. We also present a joint project by the towns of Špindlerův Mlýn and Polish partners – the Podgórzyn municipality and the Śnieżka Forest District – entitled "Journey of the Miller," which will connect the Czech Republic with Poland. The first tangible sign of the project is the successful reconstruction of the iconic White Bridge in Špindlerův Mlýn (pp. 15–16). The friendship between the towns of Ústí nad Orlicí and Bystrzyca Kłodzka spans 30 years, as discussed on pages 17–18. The Červená Voda municipality presents two projects – a student exchange trip to Wrocław and events that enriched the cultural and social life of the village, such as a pilgrimage, a ball, and an open-air cinema (pages 19–20). The joint project of the Czech and Polish secretariats, Together We Create the Euroregion, has been successfully completed. The newsletter revisits two events, which took place in Strzelin, Poland, and at the Pardubice Regional Office. In total, six meetings were held in Poland, three on the Czech side, and the final conference in November in Boguszyn (pp. 21–24). The topic of pilgrimages, a contemporary phenomenon, is the subject of an article about the International Way of St. Adalbert leading from Prague to Gdańsk. Rafał Machowiak, Secretary General of the National Chamber of Maritime Commerce (pp. 25-26), shared his experiences with us. The Paper Museum in Duszniki-Zdrój and the Kłodzko Museum in Kłodzko have won important awards – details of which can be found on pages 27-30. With winter approaching, I also bring you some tips on ski trails and other winter inspirations (pp. 31-35). The end of the newsletter traditionally belongs to the news from the Small Projects Fund.
