On August 28, 2025, we concluded a series of meetings promoting cross-border cooperation on the Polish side as part of the "Together We Create the Euroregion" project. The final event was hosted by the Strzelin Commune.
The meeting was attended by representatives of municipalities and institutions from Strzelin County, representatives of the district government, and partners from the Czech Republic – representatives of organizations collaborating with Polish institutions on cross-border projects.
Guests were welcomed by Dorota Pawnuk, Mayor of Strzelin, and Bernadeta Tambor, Director of the SGPEG Office and Secretary of the Glacensis Association of Polish Municipalities.
During the meeting, examples of joint Polish-Czech initiatives implemented in towns and municipalities of Strzelin County were presented. Participants shared their experiences and best practices related to the implementation of cross-border projects.
A special guest at the event was Tomasz Duszyński, Director of the Rev. Stanisław Staszic Municipal and Communal Public Library. Jan Twardowski in Strzelin, author of books set in the Kłodzko and Strzelin regions, translated into Czech, introduced the audience to legends related to the Strzelin region and the borderland. Miroslav Kocian, Secretary of the Euroregion Pomezí Čech, Moravy a Kladska – Euroregion Glacensis, also spoke, inviting participants to two more project events taking place on the Czech side of the border.
After the presentations, a walking tour of Strzelin, led by Andrzej Morka from the Tourist Information Centre, took place. Participants visited the Town Hall Tower and its underground areas, and then followed the Municipal Historical Trail to St. Mary's Hill, where investments implemented, among others, as part of cross-border cooperation were presented.
Finally, we would like to express our sincere thanks to Mayor Dorota Pawnuk and the Secretary of the Strzelin Commune, Mr. Kazimierz Nahajło, for their assistance in organizing the event.
But that's not all! We have two more meetings ahead of us on the Czech side – on September 18, 2025, at the Paprsek mountain hut near Staré Město pod Sněžník, and on November 4, 2025, at the Pardubice County Park – Jan Kašpar's Sál.
The project will culminate in the Cooperation Forum – a full-day Euroregional conference scheduled for the second half of November. It will be a unique opportunity to meet representatives of various backgrounds, exchange experiences and good practices, and establish new partnerships in cross-border cooperation.
