General Assembly of Members of the Association of Polish Communes of the Glacensis Euroregion on February 21, 2025 at the Kłodzko Hotel
On February 21st, the General Assembly of Members of the Association of Polish Communes of the Glacensis Euroregion took place at the Hotel Kłodzko in Boguszyn.
The meeting was chaired by Czesław Kręcichwost, President of the Association's Management Board. The meeting was attended by mayors, heads of villages, heads of districts of the Glacensis Euroregion member communes and counties, as well as distinguished guests invited by the President: Mr. Paweł Gancarz - Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Ms. Magdalena Bednarska-Wajerowska - Director of the Department of European Funds /including ZIT, POF and FST., Ms. Małgorzata Paduszyńska - Deputy Director for Economic Affairs of the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Wrocław, Mr. Waldemar Wojciechowski - Director of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways - branch in Wrocław, Mr. Mateusz Masłowski - acting Director of the Lower Silesian Road and Rail Service in Wrocław and Mr. Mariusz Wawro - Director of Investments of the Lower Silesian Road and Rail Service in Wrocław and Mr. Łukasz Kasprzak - Deputy Director of the Department of Economy and Promotion of the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
During the meeting, a number of topics related to the Kłodzko Valley were discussed, including the construction of the S8 road from Wrocław to Bardo, the individual sections of which are to be ready in 3-4 years, the status of the Bardo-Kłodzko section, which according to assurances is also to be built, although with a delay, the post-flood repair of sections of the national road in Wilkanów and Żelazno. The topic of the Złoty Stok bypass was raised, the implementation of which will not take place quickly - if at all. The Director of the GDDKiA in Wrocław discussed the planned reconstruction of the DK-8 between Szczytna and Kudowa-Zdrój, where the national road is to partially follow a new path. The acting director of the Lower Silesian Road and Rail Service in Wrocław announced a thorough renovation of provincial road no. 392 after the flood – the funds for this are to come from EU funds – and a 4-kilometer section of the Bystrzyca Kłodzka provincial road no. 388, and the continuation of its modernization in Polanica-Zdrój. The revitalization of the railway line to Stronie Śląskie was also announced – the deadline for submitting offers expires in March and it will be known whether the contractor for this investment will be selected. The topic of the need for broad promotion of tourist areas affected by the flood was discussed. A broad billboard campaign is planned, as well as co-financing of school trips to Lower Silesia.
Ms. Magdalena Bednarska-Wajerowska gave a presentation on the state of implementation of European Funds for Lower Silesia.
Ms. Małgorzata Paduszyńska presented the work on estimating flood damage and the activities of the Kłodzko Valley Forest District for the reconstruction after the flood.
Mr. Krzysztof Gajewski, Management Board Representative for Contacts with Local Governments of TAURON Dystrybucja S.A., also spoke and invited Local Government Units to participate in open consultations on the draft of the "Development Plan for Meeting Current and Future Demand for Electricity for 2026-2031".
