The Žamberk City Museum invites you to a lecture and a small workshop on the medicinal effects of spices. The lecturer is PharmDr. Daniela Suchánková, Ph.D. After the lecture, you can mix a mixture of spices to prepare a delicious drink that will perfume your home and warm your body and soul.
Spices have a long history, dating back thousands of years. The oldest records come from Egypt, China and India, from where most were imported. They were used not only as a flavoring, but also as a currency, for religious ceremonies and to this day have their irreplaceable importance in the therapy of various diseases. Come and learn about the history of well-known and less common spices and discover the secrets of their medicinal effects.
